Simmons was accepted into the North American Language and Culture Assistants Program (NALCAP) and will teach English to native high school Spanish speakers from October 2025 to May 2026.

The Integrative Community Studies program at LSU welcomes Leanora Hernandez as its new program manager. With a background in biomedical research, special education, and program leadership, Hernandez brings a unique blend of scientific rigor and student-centered advocacy to the ICS team.

Lewis was honored for making significant and lasting contributions to education as a UNO alumni and the former superintendent of NOLA Public Schools.
